Christian Eriksen in Denmark Squad for first time since cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen has made the Denmark squad for the first time since his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

Denmark face the Netherlands and Serbia in upcoming friendlies at the end of March, where Eriksen will look to make his comeback.

In Euro 2020 – which took place last summer – Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against Finland.

The 43rd minute marked the moment the the ex-Inter Milan star collapsed on the pitch – pronounced dead for 3-4 minutes.

Doctors revived the star with one de-fib, and he was rushed to hospital soon after.

The 30-year-old was fitted with an ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) due to rhythm disturbances after the arrest.

Eriksen will emotionally re-join up the Danish squad for training in Spain prior to the friendlies.

It will his first time in the squad since the incident.

The midfielder recently joined Brentford from Inter Milan in a move to start playing more first-team football.
