MUMBLES Rangers travelled to West Wales Premier League table toppers Evans and Williams on Saturday (Oct 30) and gained a valuable point which maintains Rangers’ unbeaten record for the season so far.

Evans and Williams took the game to their opponents and a brace of goals from Mathew Williams in the 20th and 24th minutes of the game gave the home side a comfortable start which was maintained to the half time break.

Rangers were off to a slow start and struggled to get a foot in the game. Their cause wasn’t helped when Rangers centre back Liam Brown had to leave the field of play with an injury and was substituted by defender Tom Mooney.

The second half saw Rangers start to come back into the game and were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute which was converted by Rangers Captain Christian Allen to reduce the deficit.

Rangers pushed on and with nine minutes of normal time to go, they were awarded a free kick outside the home team’s penalty area. Up stepped Rangers Jordan Lloyd-Evans who struck the ball underneath the home side’s defensive wall into the net to level the scores at 2-2.

With time running out, neither side could find the winner and both teams had to settle for a point apiece.
