St Florence come from behind to beat Milford Athletic in Senior Cup

ST FLORENCE went through to the second round of the Pembrokeshire Senior Cup on Saturday (Oct 1) as they beat Milford Athletic 5-3.

The two sides had played each other in Division 3 just two weeks ago and it was the Saints who came out on top with a 4-3 win.

Jake Allen scored in that game and he opened the scoring for the Saints after 20 minutes but Thomas Jones equalised for Milford just four minutes later.

And on 28 minutes the visitors took the lead as Ashden King scored to make it 2-1.

However, Allen levelled the game for St Florence and four minutes before the break he scored again to complete his hat trick.

Twenty minutes into the second half King scored his second goal to level the game at 3-3.

But just two minutes later the Saints were back ahead as Allen scored his fourth goal of the game.

Allen then turned provider for Jake Webster to make it 5-3 with fifteen minutes to go.

The Saints were able to see the game out and can now look forward to their second round tie.
