Talent identification manager Gus Williams to return to FAW

Gus Williams, who previously served as the national talent identification manager, is set to re-join the Football Association of Wales [FAW], only eight months after departing to join Blackburn Rovers.

After spending over twenty years at the FAW, Williams left to become the head of player recruitment at Blackburn last July.

However, he will return to the FAW in April to take on the role of national talent pathway manager.

According to the FAW, Williams’ objective will be to expand the player talent pool in Wales. During his previous tenure with the FAW, he was acknowledged for discovering several young, Welsh-qualified players.

“Gus has been a huge part of our success,” said Noel Mooney, FAW chief executive.

“And he will once again be central to our future successes.
