Hakin see off gutsy Tish

HAKIN United scored four late goals on Saturday (Mar 12) as they beat a tiring St Ishmaels side 8-0.

Tish came into the game on the back of three straight wins while Hakin were also on a high having beaten Penlan in the West Wales Cup the previous week.

It looked as if the first half might finish goalless but four minutes before the break it was Hakin who opened the scoring.

Shane Walsh set up Camron Thomas who scored to give the Vikings the lead.

Tish’s hopes of getting something from the game took a blow early in the second half as Tyler Sheil was sent off.

Three minutes later the home side doubled their lead as Justin Harding scored and just a minute after Leon Luby got his name on the scoresheet to make it 3-0.

Thomas then returned the favour as he set up Walsh to score Hakin’s fourth on 72 minutes.

With thirteen minutes to go Tish were awarded a penalty but Adam Kingsbeer was unable to convert the spot kick.

Just a minute later Ashley Bevan made it five for the hosts and with seven minutes to go Gareth Fawcett added another.

Ben Aldred and Bevan completed the scoring as Hakin continued their excellent winning run.

Hakin’s next game sees them take on Seven Sisters in the semi-final of the West Wales Cup at the Bridge Meadow Stadium, kick off 7.45pm.

Tish are in action on Saturday, March 19, when they host Narberth.
