ON SATURDAY February 28, Carmarthen Golf Club Junior Section organised a shotgun start Texas Scramble competition to raise funds for the section and an impending trip to Spain to represent Wales in a Four Nations Championship. Eighteen teams of four took part on the day in the competition that was keenly contested. The winners were: 3rd place – Chris Jones, Adrian Thomas, Eirwyn Roberts and Neville Thomas 2nd place – Ian Marks, Huw Smith and two juniors Sion Jenkins and Sam Harries 1st place – Simon Barrett, George Laidlaw and John and Joanne Dive A special mention must go to junior member Sam Harries who had his first ever hole in one on the 13th hole. Congratulations to Sam and all the winners. The junior section are very grateful to everyone who took part in the competiton and for willingly dressing up for photographs on the first tee.
