Kilgetty book place in Senior Cup Final

KILGETTY booked their place in the Senior Cup Final after beating Carew 4-2 at the Bridge Meadow on Monday night (Mar 21).

A good crowd gathered for the game and they witnessed an even contest with both sides sharing hopes of reaching the final.

It was Carew who took the lead as the in-form Adam Muskett scored after 15 minutes.

Kilgetty, who sit top of Division 2, were not there just to make up the numbers though and they equalised ten minutes later through Lloyd Hughes.

It remained 1-1 until half time with the game very much in the balance.

Neither side could get on top in the early stages of the second half as both knew the next goal could prove crucial.

Carew came close with an effor that hit the bar but the game turned with three goals in the space of four minutes, all for Kilgetty.

Kilgetty celebrate their second goal of the game

Hughes grabbed his second of the game on 76 minutes and then a minute later Oscar Miles made it 3-1 as he backheeled the ball into the net.

They weren’t done there and Miles scored again soon after to all but book Kilgetty’s place in the final.

Muskett pulled a goal back on 80 minutes as Carew threatened a late comeback but it didn’t come and Kilgetty celebrated reaching the final.
