Late tries see Fishguard to win over Tenby

FISHGUARD earned their first win of the season on Saturday (Sept 24) as they beat Pembrokeshire rivals Tenby United 20-13.

James Griffiths put the hosts ahead with a penalty but Tenby hit back with a penalty of their own from Max Brindley to level the scores.

Griffiths added another before Brindley added his second and the sides went in at the break with the score at 6-6.

In the second half it was Tenby who grabbed the first score as Matt Morgan scored the game’s first try after a quick tap penalty and Gwion Jones then added the extras.

Fishguard hit back though and in the final ten minutes, Sion Collela scored a try and Griffith’s conversion levelled the scores once more.

Chris Shousha then went over for another try and Griffiths added the conversion to complete the scoring.
