Laugharne edge out Blues

LAUGHARNE earned their seventh win of the season as they beat Haverfordwest 10-13 in a close game on Saturday (Jan 19).

The visitors went ahead in the first half as Mikey Williams touched the ball down and Steff Davies added the extra two points.

Jack Clancy got the Blues back in the game soon after as he touched down for a try but the conversion was missed.

Shortly before the break Laugharne increased their lead as Davies sent a penalty through the posts to give his side a 5-10 lead at the break.

Davies then added his second penalty early in the second half to take Laugharne eight points ahead of the Blues.

The home side hit back and Clancy scored his second try of the match but again the conversion was missed.

Laugharne then defended well to keep the Blues as they held on for an excellent win which moves them to within a point of fifth placed Cardigan.

They also have a number of games in hand on their rivals above them and will be looking to push on from this result and move up the table.

On Saturday (Jan 26), they are at home to bottom side St Davids.
