Llandeilo Bowling Club hold AGM

LLANDEILO BOWLING CLUB recently held their AGM/annual dinner at the White Hart Inn, Llandeilo, where the Captain of the men’s team, Roy Kinnell, the Veterans’ Captain, David Lewis, and the Ladies’ Captain , Ena Williams each presented their reports for the year.
The 2019 Carmarthenshire Ladies’ Bowling Association (CBLA) Dinefwr and District League reigned champions, and exuberated pride as they picked up their trophy, with an extra pat on the back having just missed out on becoming last year’s champs as runners up.
Following the presentation of detailed secretarial and financial reports for the year, confirming that the club was going from strength to strength, the election of officers for 2019/20 took place.
A proposal was presented and unanimously approved at the AGM, that Club Secretary, Brian Bennett, be appointed a life member of the club in recognition of his outstanding contribution and service to the club particularly during the process of asset transfer with responsibility for the club now having been assumed by its members.
Awards and numerous trophies were presented by the Mayor, Owen James and his consort, Mrs Jordan James.
Inscribed slate plaques were presented to three of the Club’s retiring officers: Roy Kinnell, Club Night Organiser; Jean Stancer, Treasurer and Malcolm Davies, Vulnerable Persons officer. Each having given successive years of unstinting service and commitment to the Club.
The accolade of Club Champion was won by King Jones, a recurring name throughout the evening in the winning of various cups and trophies. The Club Night Winner for the second year in succession was Doug Davies. Congratulations to all the other winners and runners up too numerous to mention.
