Llanelli edged out

LLANELLI remain in the bottom two of the Principality Premiership but they were beaten by Bedwas by two points on Saturday (Oct 27).

Ashley Sutton put the home side ahead after four minutes with a penalty and they increased that lead when the referee awarded a penalty try.

Sutton then added a second penalty soon after to give his side a 13-0 with quarter of an hour played.

Bedwas hit back almost immediately when Joe Scrivens scored with a penalty. After twenty minutes the visitors crossed for their first try of the match as Jacob Chilcott crossed the whitewash. Scrivens added the extras to make it 13-10.

Shortly before the half hour mark the visitors went ahead as Michael Callow crossed for their second try but the conversion was missed.

On the stroke of half time Llanelli regained the lead as Kalum Evans crossed the line but the conversion was wayward and the home side held an 18-15 lead at the break.

The opening twenty minutes of the second half were scoreless as both sides had chances knowing the next score would be crucial.

On the hour mark it was Bedwas who scored when Scrivens sent a penalty through the posts.

However, just a minute later Llanelli went ahead again as Nathan Hart went over for their third try of the game.

The conversion was missed and Bedwas were still in the game with the score at 23-18.
