Mariners suffer narrow loss in Division 2 Cup

MILFORD Haven suffered a narrow defeat on Saturday (Sept 17) as they were beaten 17-11 by Bridgend Sports in the Division 2 Cup.

Dewi Rees scored Bridgend’s first half try which was converted by Rhys Williams.

Milford’s try came from Dan Jenkins but the missed conversion meant the half time score read 5-7 in Bridgend’s favour.

The Sports added a second try after the restart with Lloyd Wilson touching the ball down and Williams again converting.

Williams also added a penalty but two penalties from Milford’s James Williams ensured they would take home a losing bonus point.

The next set of fixtures for Group H sees Milford Haven travelling to Pyle on October 15 while Bridgend Sports host Pontyberem.

On Saturday, September 24, Milford return to action in League 2 West as they host Pontyberem.
