Mariners win again

MILFORD Haven returned to Pembrokeshire with their twelfth win in as many games as they beat Tregaron 22-3 on Saturday (Jan 26).

The Mariners made the long trip to Ceredigion for the game and they may have been suffering the effects of that as Tregaron took a 3-0 lead at half time.

Conditions also contributed to the low score in the first half but Milford took control in the second half and were soon in the lead and they did not look back.

Lee Riley, Efan Morgan and Sam Dolling all scored a try while the rest of the points were kicked by James Trueman.

The Mariners now sit four points ahead of second placed Neyland having played two games less than their rivals.

With those games in hand they know a win will go a long way to deciding where the title will end up this season. A Neyland win would make things interesting but they would be relying on the Mariners to slip up again.

Earlier in the season it was the Mariners who came out on top when these two met at the Athletic Ground as they won 15-21.

Milford welcome rivals Neyland to the Obs on Saturday (Feb 2) for a top of the table clash and for what is sure to be another excellent game.
