NANTGAREDIG moved up to second place in League 2 West on Saturday (Oct 1) as they beat Milford Haven 27-15 at Cae Ystrad.
The home side started well and went ahead with an unconverted try from Meirion Davies.
Milford hit back with two unconverted tries to take a 5-10 lead.
Rhys Schiavone then went over for Nantgaredig’s second try but the conversion was missed and the score stayed at 10-10.
Milford then regained the lead with another try to make it 10-15 but the conversion was missed.
Iwan Thomas then scored for the home side and the conversion from Davies put them back into the lead at 17-15.
That’s how it stayed until half time and Milford still felt they were in with a chance of taking victory.
However, Simon O’Leary scored the bonus point try under the posts for the home side and Davies added the conversion to take the score to 24-15.
Davies also added a penalty late on to seal the win in an entertaining game.
On Saturday, October 8, Milford will look to bounce back when they host League 2 West leaders Pontarddulais while Nantgaredig travel to Fishguard.
