The win takes Neyland into third place in the league while Angle remain third from bottom.

Despite their lowly position, Angle started well but they could not find a way to goal and Neyland’s quality shone through in the end.

Tom Grimwood laid the ball off for Chris Richards in the sixth minute of the game but his low shot was saved.

With twenty minutes gone the visitors had a great chance to take the lead when Lee Brockway’s corner was punched towards the back post by Neyland’s keeper but Gareth Howells headed the ball against the post.

Lee Brockway also saw a free kick go narrowly wide mid-way through the first half and that seemed to act as a wake-up call for the home side.

With thirty minutes gone Neyland took the lead against the run of play as a long throw into the area fell to Gary Power who put the ball in the back of the net.

Just three minutes later they doubled their lead. A free kick from Michael Chandler bounced down off the underside of the bar and the ball was cleared to the edge of the box to Neyland’s Henry Durrant who fired the ball into the net.

The home side had a number of chances to add a third as the half drew to a close but Neyland were able to keep the score at 2-0.

Ten minutes into the second half Neyland did add a third goal as another long throw in from Michael Chandler was headed into the corner of the net by Wayne Parry.

Chandler continued to cause problems with his long throw-ins and three minutes later they could have had a fourth goal but Angle’s defenders were able to clear the danger.

With fifteen minutes to go Angle had a chance to get a goal back but after Darren Shaw sent the ball back across goal Craig Brockway headed the ball over.

The Nomads had a good chance to add a fourth in the closing stages but Gary Power’s header was saved.

Neyland are at home again next week as they welcome Johnston while Angle are also at home to Goodwick.
