Saundersfoot earn vital win over Dock

SAUNDERSFOOT earned a vital win over Pembroke Dock on Saturday (Jul 16) as they beat them by 69 runs.

Pembroke Dock won the toss and elected to field but Saundersfoot made a good score of 219-9 in their 45 overs.

Sam Franklin scored 71 for the home side while Jack Franklin added 49. Simon Stanford finishd unbeaten on 42 after Yannic Parker scored 18.

Ewan McDonald took 5-16 for Pembroke Dock and Nick Daley also claimed a wicket.

In reply, Billy Wood top scored with 30 and George Smith scored 26. Adam Phillips added 17 but the Dock fell short, eventually bowled out for 150.

John Mansbridge took 2-16 and Neil Powling took 2-27 for the home side. There was also two wickets from Yannic Parker while all of Saundersfoot’s other bowlers all claimed a wicket each.

The win for Saundersfoot is their fifth of the season and it sees them move 28 points above second from bottom Haverfordwest.

On Saturday, July 23, Saundersfoot host new leaders Cresselly while Pembroke Dock host St Ishmaels.
