Saundersfoot win again

SAUNDERSFOOT picked up their second win in a row as they beat Whitland by 65 runs on Saturday (Jun 1).

The home side posted a good score of 203-7 in their innings thanks to a score of 58 from Tom Mansbridge.

Nick Cope also batted well as he scored 54 while Sam Franklin added 17.

Matthew Davies took three wickets for Whitland for the loss of 46 runs while Geraint Jones also chipped in with one wicket for the loss of 36 runs.

Whitland knew they would need to bat well if they were to beat the side who had beaten leaders Neyland the previous week.

Matthew Davies did scored 43 and Jack Bowen added 40 but that was as good as it got for the visitors.

Nick Cope bowled exceptionally to finish with figures of 3-1 and Sam Franklin also claimed three wickets for the loss of 43 runs.

Danny Caine also took three wickets but conceded 52 runs as Whitland were bowled out for only 138.

The win gives Saundersfoot thirty points while Whitland take home six points for their efforts.

On Saturday (Jun 8), Saundersfoot, who are now out of the bottom two, travel to Carew and Whitland are at home to St Ishmaels.
