Scarlets see off Saints

Pembroke 22
St Clears 13

pembroke rfcPEMBROKE played good rugby to see off the typically hard challenge from St Clears, as flanker Dom Coleman ran in two tries to give his side victory over an improving St Clears outfit. After both sides took a while to settle into the rhythm of the game, it was Pembroke who opened up the scoring as Scott Powell touched down after some good passing, and Shaun Dalling adding the extras.

Matthew Lewis struck back for the Saints with two penalties, before Dom Coleman grabbed his first try to take the score to 12-6 at the interval. After the break, both sides exchanged possession in an entertaining if somewhat stop start game, and it was the Saints’ Dafydd Page who crossed the whitewash, with Lewis adding the extras. However, the score seemed to spur the Scarlets on as they clawed their way up field through strong ball carriers Sam Smith and Dom Coleman, both of whom crossed the try line, saving Pembroke from a home loss, and giving them a four try bonus point aswell.
