SWANSEA has been chosen to host the Ironman 70.3 triathlon which will take place in August 2022.
The athletes taking part will take on a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile cycle, and a 13.1-mile run.
It will be an elite event which will include qualifying slots available for the 2023 Ironman 70.3 triathlon World Championship.
The Ironman 70.3 event is part of a series, which will also celebrate para sport. Pembrokeshire currently hosts the Ironman Wales Championship.
The first race is scheduled for Sunday, 7 August 2022, and the World Triathlon Para Series event will be held in Swansea on Saturday, 6 August.
