Swifts come from behind to beat Clarby

TWO second half goals helped Monkton Swifts come from behind to earn victory over Clarbeston Road on Saturday (Feb 5).

The win for the Swifts is their second in a row and lifts them up to seventh place in the Division 1 table while defeat leaves Clarby in third place.

Jason Griffiths had put the visitors ahead after twenty minutes and they held on to their 1-0 lead until half time.

Both had chances to score in the opening minutes of the second half but it was Monkton who got themselves level on the hour mark.

Declan Carroll got the goal and the game was now open for both sides to go on and win it.

With eleven minutes to go Paul Miller scored for the Swifts to put them ahead and that would prove to be the winning goal.

On Saturday, February 12, Monkton travel to St Ishmaels while Clarbeston Road host Narberth.
