MONKTON SWIFTS earned a 4-3 win over Merlins Bridge on Tuesday night (Mar 29) to move up to seventh place in Division 1.
Jamie Wilkes gave the Swifts the lead midway through the first half but their lead only lasted for six minutes as Matthew D’Ivry equalised for the hosts.
Early in the second half Joe Leahy put the Bridge ahead but Monkton then regained the lead with two goals in the space of six minutes.
Rhodri Davies scored to level the game at 2-2 and sub Connor Hay scored with twenty minutes to go to put the Swifts back ahead.
Declan Carroll then all but sealed the points late on with Monkton’s fourth goal of the game.
Will Haworth pulled a goal back for the Wizards in the 90th minute but they were unable to find an equaliser as Monkton held on.
Merlins Bridge are in action on Thursday (Mar 31) as they host Narberth.
On Saturday, April 2, Merlins Bridge host Fishguard while Monkton host league leaders Goodwick United.
