Ticket sales soar ahead of derby clash

SCARLETS welcome Ospreys to Parc y Scarlets in the first Welsh derby of the season this Saturday (Oct 6) and tickets sales are rocketing.

Over 10,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 derby against the Ospreys with the Scarlets opening the East Stand at Parc y Scarlets due to demand.

It was the Scarlets who came out on top, after a late Josh Macleod try, the last time the two sides met, on Boxing Day 2017 at Parc y Scarlets.

The Scarlets haven’t lost at home in the Guinness PRO14 since September 2016 and will be keen to keep the winning momentum going this Saturday.

Commenting on Scarlets’ home record head coach Wayne Pivac said: “It’s a nice record to have. Most teams have a better record at home than away. It’s something we’re proud of.

“I can assure you that our preparation this week is making sure everybody knows their roles, gets their roles right and executes properly on the day.

“I’m excited by it and I know the players are. The record is a by-product of that if you like.”

Scarlets v Ospreys, Saturday, October 6, at Parc y Scarlets, kick-off 15:00.
