Tottenham and F1 agree 15-year partnership

Tottenham Hotspur and Formula 1 have come to an agreement to form a partnership that will include the production of an in-stadium electric karting track below the grounds.

In the ground breaking collaboration, Spurs and F1 will construct the world’s first electric karting track inside of a Premier League stadium.

The facility is scheduled to open later this year, with F1 and Tottenham to launch a new driver education initiative in order to identify the next generation of F1 drivers.

Educational events will be organized in order to promote motorsport among schools and involve local youth in the field, and at the same time, teaching young people about potential careers in engineering and computer science.

The partnership will also concentrate on providing apprenticeships and careers for local youth and increasing diversity in the motorsport industry.

Additionally, F1 and Tottenham will collaborate on sustainability initiatives in order to fulfil their commitment to become net zero carbon by 2030 while Spurs attempts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% and become net zero by 2040.

President and CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali said:

“As we continue to grow our sport, partnering with world-renowned brands like Tottenham Hotspur allows us to take Formula 1 and motorsport to new and more diverse audiences.

“The karting experience will be a destination and place that families, friends, and aspiring drivers from all over the world will want to visit and enjoy, engaging new audiences and offering an accessible entry point to the world of motorsport.

“Our two brands have a shared vision to create life-changing career opportunities, promote diversity and inclusion, such as through the recently announced F1 Academy, and driving environmental sustainability – our innovative partnership will bring all of this to life.”
