AMMANFORD got their pre-season schedule underway on Saturday (Jul 6) as they took on Welsh Premier League newboys Penybont at the KYMCO Stadium.
Penybont scored two quality first half goals but Ammanford played some good football against Rhys Griffiths’ quality outfit.
Penybont, as in most friendly games, changed their team completely in the second half.
Trundle pulled a goal back and within minutes Gavin Jones could have levelled the score but Penybont went on to win the encounter.
It was an entertaining game played in excellent spirit which bodes well for both teams in their respective leagues next season.
On Friday (Jul 12), Ammanford play their next pre-season game against Pontarddulais on Coleg Sir Gar’s 3G pitch.
