THE IDENTITY of the 15-year-old boy who tragically drowned after encountering difficulties in the sea near Port Talbot has been revealed. David Ejimofor, a resident of Aberavon, lost his life in a distressing incident that unfolded on Monday evening at Aberavon Beach.
Following a prompt response, David was located and pulled from the water shortly after 7.10pm. Emergency services swiftly transported the teenager to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he was later pronounced dead, according to South Wales Police.
The authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this sorrowful incident. Detective Inspector Carl Price expressed their commitment to unravelling the sequence of events, stating, “We continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence to establish the circumstances that led to this very sad and tragic incident.”
