WELSH professional wrestler Tegan Nox, originally from Bargoed in Caerphilly County, has broken her silence after news emerged of her release from WWE earlier today.
Nox, born Steffanie Rhiannon Newell, was among several wrestlers affected by WWE’s latest roster changes, which also saw Indi Hartwell released and Baron Corbin notified that his contract would not be renewed upon its expiration.
On social media, Nox has reverted to her original ring name, Nixon Newell, a nod to her pre-WWE days. Responding to the news, the Welsh star shared her perspective with fans, writing, “Some things are just out of your control, and you can only do as much as you can. Let’s clear one thing up though. I’m ready. I’ve been ready.
Just have to show people what they’ve missed.” Nox’s journey with WWE included two separate stints, beginning with her debut in early 2017.
She was first released in November 2021 but was rehired a year later, making her comeback on television in December 2022. She continued under contract until now, with her last televised appearance on WWE Raw in April 2024, where she teamed with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark in a match against Damage CTRL.
As a dedicated and resilient competitor, Nox’s departure from WWE is seen as a new chapter for the 29-year-old Welsh talent, who has vowed to continue proving her readiness to the wrestling world.
