Chef ’s arrest follows street robbery

street robberyDYFED POWYS POLICE have arrested and charged a Milford Haven man with robbery, following the mugging of a cashier from the town’s CK’s supermarket on Tuesday, November 26.

Mother of two, Claire John, told the Herald last week that she had walked as far as Hubberston VC School, when she was forced to the ground by an unknown male assailant. In the struggle, she said,
the money bag she was carrying burst, scattering the takings of the supermarket across the pavement. The male then fled the scene with most of the cash.

Last week The Herald reported that a member of staff from the store said £9000 was taken in the heist, which took place at Observatory Avenue in Hakin.

Christopher Cole, of Gelliswick Road, appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Monday to confirm his name and address. He was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday, December 10.Cole, who works as a chef, admitted to magistrates the possession of a quantity of cannabis, but no plea was entered regards the robbery.
