Crash driver loses licence

courtNEIGHBOURS hearing the sound of a crash near their home resulted in a Fishguard man losing his driving licence at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Evan Daniel Davies, aged 47, of Hwyel Cynon, Fishguard pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the limit on December 23 of last year.

Prosecuting, Jackie Lis told the court that during the early hours of the morning neighbours had been alerted by the sound of a crash and saw the BMW car revving. On seeing the defendant getting out of the car it looked like he had probably been drinking. The police were called and a breath test revealed that Davies had 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Davies was disqualified from driving for 17 months, told to attend a clearway course and fined a total of £215.
