‘Foolish act’ leads to ban

drink-drivingMAGISTRATES have disqualified a 21-year-old man from driving after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving. Myles Kendrick, of Blackbridge Drive, was disqualified for 12 months at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (Dec 16). Prosecuting, Ellie Morgan said: “On Saturday, November 29 at 4.30am, an officer’s attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling along Victoria Road.

“He could see the car did not have its lights on and the officer followed the car round the roundabout and back on to Victoria Road. “The driver turned left on to Dartmouth Street and the copper put his blue lights on, which caused the vehicle in front to stop. “The officer spoke to the driver and could smell alcohol. His test was positive and he was taken to the station. His lower reading was 55 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.”

The Magistrates described the incident as a ‘foolish act’ and fined Kendrick £240. He was also ordered to pay a £24 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
