New lifeboat station a step closer

station step closerA NEW lifeboat station to be built at St Justinian’s near St Davids is a step closer after a planning application was accepted by Pembrokeshire County Council.

The application is to build a new station and cliff-top shelter next to the existing one.

National Park officers have recommended that this be referred to the Welsh Government and it is hoped they will also approve the application.Colin Williams, RNLI Regional Operations Manager
said: “The RNLI are pleased that Pembrokeshire County Council and the National Park have decided to support the charity’s planning application for a new lifeboat station in St Justinian’s for St Davids RNLI.

“This is a positive step for the RNLI and we will continue to work with Pembrokeshire County Council, the Welsh Government and the local community as we progress on this process.

“Due to legal requirements, the planning application will now be referred to the Welsh Government for consideration. We eagerly wait for the outcome of their referral.”
