paul readingA NORTH PEMBROKESHIRE man was remanded in custody when he appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Monday charged, with dangerous driving, malicious wounding and assault.

Craig Morgan Wilmott, 31, of Maes Ingli, Newport pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving, not guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm to Paul Reading, and not guilty to ABH against a second man, Kieran Morgans.

The court heard the prosecution case that at 10:14pm on November 9, Maey-Y-Cnwce, Newport, Wilmott had been driving a Mitsubishi Warrior 4×4 vehicle in such a way that he caused serious injury to Paul Reading on the A487 in Newport, and actual bodily harm to Kieran Morgans.

It is believed that he allegedly drove his vehicle into two pedestrians.

Due to the serious nature of the offences the magistrates declined jurisdiction, and Wilmott was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court November 19 at 10am.

Bail was refused to prevent further offending, to prevent interference with witnesses and because of the seriousness of the offences.
