Soft drinks industry bubbles over

industry bubblesTHE IMPORTANCE of the soft drinks industry in Pembrokeshire has been highlighted by Simon Hart MP.

Princes Gate Spring Water employs 60 people at its factory near Narberth and Simon met the company’s newest recruit at a recent event in Parliament.

The British Soft Drinks Association held a reception to launch a new report which demonstrates the significant impact the industry makes to economic growth, job creation and innovation in Pembrokeshire and the rest of the UK.

During the event, Mr Hart met Princes Gate Spring Water’s apprentice Corbin Moran from Laugharne to learn about the skills and qualifications he is gaining.

Corbin has started a training program with Princes Gate which has allowed him to return to college to complete his ONC in Electrical Engineering with a target of completing his HNC within the next three years.

Corbin said: “I consider myself to be very fortunate for having this opportunity. I’ve always had an interest in engineering as my father is an engineer. But I wasn’t sure how to approach it or get trained in that sector. Princes Gate has now given me an opportunity to follow this path and I am thoroughly enjoying it.”

Mr Hart added: “The soft drinks industry plays an important role in Pembrokeshire, not just producing drinks such as Princes Gate Spring Water, but encouraging innovation, supporting healthy living and creating sustainable jobs. I am delighted that the company goes from strength to strength and is helping to train the next generation of engineers.”
