DRIVING home after a very long day in work resulted in a Withybush doctor appearing at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Dr Stamatios Zouras, aged 37, of Castle Quay, Rocky Park, Pembroke pleaded guilty to driving his Bentley Continental car on Dredgemans Hill on September 29 last year at 87 miles per hour.
Mr Jonathan Edwards, defending, told the court that defendant, who is a registrar at the hospital, had been in work since eight or nine that morning and was driving home at about 10pm that night when the offence occurred.
Continuing, Mr Edwards said that the defendant already has three roadside points on his licence and did not realise that these points go onto a licence.”He had had a long day and wanted to get home,” he said.
Zouras was fined a total of £525, given four penalty points and 28 days to pay.
