Teenager dies in Boxing Day smash

keep safeA TEENAGER has died and a child is in a critical condition in hospital following a car accident on the A484 between Llechryd and Cenarth on Boxing Day afternoon.

The tragedy, at 1.30pm, only involved one vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo, was been driven by a nineteen year old with a young girl in the back of the car.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed to The Herald that the vehicle mounted a grass verge and collided with a stone wall, sustaining ‘substantial side impact damage’.

The child was airlifted to the University of Wales hospital in Cardiff. The teenage girl who was from Cardigan was taken to Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen. Police confirmed on December 30 that the girl had died on Sunday.

The police have requested that any witnesses to the collision contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101.
