PEMBROKESHIRE’S children in need will enjoy a better Christmas thanks to an annual toy appeal.
The Pembrokeshire Christmas Toy Appeal is once again collecting items for those youngsters most in need.
This year for the first time Radio Pembrokeshire organised a special Bring a Toy to Work Day and collected items from workplaces across the county.
Staff at County Hall, and other local authority work places, were among those to respond with their toys picked up by presenters James Southon and Jim Hughes on Tuesday (November 26).
Over 1,000 toys are collected for the appeal every year and are distributed by Pembrokeshire County Council’s Social Care, PATCH (Pembrokeshire Action to Combat Hardship) and charity bikers, the 3 Amigos.
Although people in Pembrokeshire are having a hard time this year, they always turn up trumps. I am amazed at their generosity, said Admin Supervisor Liz Watkins, who organises the Council’s response.
The appeal is supported by Valero and toys can also be left at branches of Tesco and National Westminster bank.
