MANORBIER-based librettist, music critic and writer Paul Griffiths was a New Year’s recipient of the OBE for his services to music, literature and composition.
An award-winning novelist and renowned expert on modern classical music, Mr Griffiths is the former music critic of the New Yorker magazine and the author of The Penguin Companion to Classical Music.
An adaptation of his novel let me tell you by Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen received its world premiere performed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra on December 20, 2013.
