BETWS YN RHOS could soon have new holiday lodges.

Thomas Griffiths has applied to Conwy’s planning department for permission to erect three holiday lodges at land at of Bryn Celyn on Llanfair Road, Abergele.

The plans for the 0.10-hectare site, which is currently used for agriculture and storage, include car parking and landscaping.

The holiday lodges will feature a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, with a wooden decked area, seating, and a hot tub.

A planning statement says the lodges will be a ‘new high-quality all-year sustainable tourism development’ that will help ‘diversify the economy and encourage cross-boundary links’ with other authorities in line with Conwy’s tourism policies.

If granted planning permission, the plans will create two part-time jobs.

Separated by a gravel track, the site, which is approximately two miles from Abergele, is currently grassland with hedgerow and trees running along the eastern boundary with hedgerow on the western side.

The plans will likely be agreed by planning officers or debated at a future planning committee meeting.
