Plans for glamping pods in Llanrwst submitted to Conwy Council

Conwy County Council HQ

PLANS for glamping pods on the grounds of a Llanrwst holiday cottage have been submitted to Conwy’s planning department.

Mr Hughes of Hughes Lettings Ltd has submitted the planning application for land at Tan y Fordd, Abergele Road, Llanrwst.

The company wants permission from the council to change the use of the 0.42 hectares of land to install three glamping pods together with a treatment plant and parking area within the grounds of Tan Ffordd holiday cottage.

In a planning statement, Mr Hughes said the pods offered breaks that allowed visitors to reconnect with nature.

“The demand for unique and sustainable outdoor accommodation has grown significantly in recent years, and rural glamping has become increasingly popular as a way to reconnect with nature,” he wrote.

“The target market for the glamping pods will be couples who seek a peaceful and secluded retreat in nature, without sacrificing comfort and convenience.

“The site’s location, privacy, and views make it an ideal destination. Rural glamping pods in North Wales can be considered a niche market catering to those seeking unique holiday experiences.”

The statement concluded: “The proposed business plan aims to provide a unique and sustainable outdoor accommodation experience for guests who seek a secluded and rural retreat in nature.

“The glamping pods’ design, location, and environmental impact will be carefully considered to ensure the business is viable and sustainable.”

Conwy’s planning department will consider the plans before a decision is made.
