Sam Rowlands MS visits Stanley Eye Unit at Abergele Hospital

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, praises hard working staff at a North Wales Eye Unit.

Mr Rowlands, Shadow Health Minister, recently visited the Stanley Eye Unit at Abergele Hospital which deals with approximately 40,000 scheduled appointments and around 6,000 surgical procedures every year.

He said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet with hard working staff and see the excellent work which is carried out at the Stanley Eye Unit and hear about the challenges they face.

“The dedicated doctors, nurses and support staff provide a first class service and the NHS deserve a lot more support from the Welsh Labour Government.

“I am disappointed that the NHS in North Wales continues to suffer at the hands of the Welsh Labour Government who are failing to address the ever increasing waiting lists and backlogs in assessing patients.

“As Shadow Health Minister I will continue to hold the Welsh Government to account and put pressure on them to improve services here in North Wales.”
