Towyn holiday park extension and bowling alley get green light

SF Parks has applied to Conwy County Council’s planning department, seeking permission for plans for a six-lane bowling alley, rooftop bar, and an extended amusement arcade at a Towyn holiday Park.

A TOWYN holiday park will be developed with a new six-lane bowling alley and extended arcade, following a planning committee backing the plans.

A planning application from the Golden Gate Holiday Centre was discussed by Conwy ’s planning committee at February’s meeting at Bodlondeb.

The holiday park sought permission for a “high-quality” indoor leisure complex, which will include a bowling alley, rooftop bar, and extended arcade.

Now that planning permission has been agreed, the development will see the relocation of the reception and administration offices in order to “centralise the operation and customer experience”.

The plans include the construction of an outdoor play area and 14 parking spaces to the north of the proposed leisure complex.

A company representative for SF parks, who run the Golden Gate Holiday Centre, explained the family-owned company had once run the former bowling centre at Mostyn Champneys in Llandudno for over a decade.

SF Parks said the new extension would create an additional seven part-time jobs, in addition to the existing eight full-time and 20 part-time roles.

Cllr Ifor Lloyd said: “I’m very happy to see a local company expand and to see how many people it employs in the area. I’m very happy to propose we go with the recommendation.”

The committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposals.
