PLANS have been unveiled for the conversion of two agricultural barns into new holiday lets at a village near Denbigh.
Mr and Mrs Clwyd Spencer have applied to Denbighshire’s planning department, seeking permission to convert agricultural outbuildings into two holiday accommodation lets.
The conversion plans at Maes Y Groes, at the B5382 on Henllan Road, Denbigh, include the formation of access, parking, and landscaping.
If given the green light, the applicant will convert the brick and stone buildings adding natural slate roofs with UPVC doors.
Building consultant Nedw Llewelyn backed the plans in his report.
“It is of my professional opinion that generally the overall structural condition of the barns is adequate and only requires a localised rebuild in areas and roof strengthening for both barns,” he said.
“No major or extensive structural repairs are required to convert the main shell of the buildings into a habitable space, and if the refurbishment follows the above recommendations and in line with current building regulations, I would consider the building a good contender for a barn conversion.”
The planning application will likely be decided by the delegated authority of planning officers or debated at a future planning committee meeting at Denbighshire’s Ruthin County Hall HQ.
