Rhyl shopkeeper seeks retrospective approval for grocery store conversion

Mr Hunar Rauff of Rhyl Meat and Grocery has applied for a retrospective change of use from A1 use to A3 use for his shop at 35-37 Wellington Road.

A RHYL shopkeeper has submitted a retrospective planning application, seeking permission to convert a building from a white goods and furniture shop to a food store.

Hunar Rauff of Rhyl Meat and Grocery has applied for a retrospective change of use for his shop at Wellington Road.

According to the planning application, the building was originally used as a shop selling white goods and household furniture.

The building is now a mini supermarket, bakery, and halal butcher/deli selling pre-prepared foods.

Mr Rauff says the application is retrospective as the change of use and building works have already been completed.

The application also seeks permission to add a canopy to the front of the building for a small alfresco area, works which have already been carried out.

The planning application will likely be considered by Denbighshire ’s planning committee at a future meeting or by the delegated authority of planning officers.
