SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has welcomed news that a hotel in his region has been named in the top 10 for best Autumn breaks under £200 in Britain.

Mr Rowlands, chair of the Senedd’s Cross-Party Group on Tourism, was commenting after the newly refurbished Bridge End Hotel, Llangollen was named on a list by a national newspaper.

He said: “Everyone knows how passionate I am about tourism in North Wales and hearing about accolades like this just enhances the importance of this sector in my region.

“I have said many times that Llangollen is a lovely part of North Wales and I am delighted to see this newly refurbished hotel on the list and congratulations must go to everyone involved in this investment.

“It is great to see the Bridge End Hotel being named along with places in Brighton, Cornwall and Edinburgh and fantastic news for North Wales and the tourism industry.

“The town is an extremely popular tourist destination and as a very keen supporter of attracting visitors to this lovely part of the world it is good to see North Wales once again being put very firmly on the tourist map.”

The Bridge End Hotel, located at the end of Llangollen High Street, overlooking the River Dee, and the Llangollen and Corwen steam railway has just reopened after a complete refurbishment of its hotel rooms, bar, restaurant and function room.

It was recently named one of the top 10 best new British hotels for an Autumn break under £200 by the Telegraph newspaper.
