am Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is backing an initiative to help residents in Flint get up to date with technology.

Mr Rowlands was commenting after hearing about monthly sessions being held in Flint to help people lost in the world of social media and websites.

He said: “I was really pleased to hear about this initiative which is a great way of assisting those who struggle with technology.

“These days more than ever we all rely on mobile phones, ipads and laptops to keep in touch and find information so I was delighted to see Flint Town Council organising these sessions.

“So if you want to learn more about accessing the internet and emails from experts then accept an invitation by the town council and bring your own device toa session at Flint Town Hall.”

The Flintshire County Council Digital Squad will be in attendance to assist those feeling a bit lost in the world of social media and websites.

Whether you need assistance with adding or deleting contacts, navigating websites, mastering social media, or anything else related to digital technology, they’ve got you covered.

Digital inclusion is a priority at Flintshire County Council and it’s committed to ensuring residents of Flintshire are not excluded from a digital world.

The Council has recently launched its innovative service for residents of Flintshire where volunteers from across the organisation, the Digital Support Squad, provide face to face support to give people confidence to use digital technology free of charge.

Two sessions have already been held at Flint Town Hall in April and June with three more to follow from 10-12noon on Wednesday July 10, August 7 and September 11.
