Man charged with North Wales farm murder of 65-year-old Dayfdd Thomas

A MAN has been charged with the murder of 65-year-old Dafydd Thomas.

The grandfather was found dead in Minffordd, near Penrhyndeudraeth in Gwynedd, on Thursday.

North Wales Police said in a statement: “44-year-old Tony Thomas, of Maes Y Garth, Minffordd Penrhynduedraeth has been charged with the murder of Dafydd Thomas.

“He will appear before Llandudno remand court on Monday morning. Family liaison officers continue to support the family.”

Detective Inspector Chris Bell said: “I would again like to thank the community for all their support over the last few days.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses as this investigation continues. If you can assist us, please contact us on 101 or via our live webchat, quoting reference Z040635.”

Dafydd Thomas’ family have issued the following tribute: ‘We the family are trying to come to terms with the loss of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
‘Dafydd’s wider family are also devastated by his passing in such tragic circumstances. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his hard work as a local businessman and charity fundraising.
“We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

Specialist liaison officers are supporting Mr Thomas’s family.
