RGC earned their fourth league win in a row on Saturday (Dec 10) as they beat Carmarthen Quins 40-3.
The win moves RGC level on points with fifth placed Merthyr while defeat for the Quins leaves them second from bottom.
Sam Rogers opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a penalty for RGC but Jac Wilson levelled for the Quins soon after with a penalty of his own.
Rogers then put the home side back in the lead with another three-pointer before they scored their first try of the game. A kick ahead was collected by Delwyn Jones and he touched down. The conversion was missed.
Another penalty from Rogers stretched the lead and shortly before the break they had their second try. RGC won a Quins lineout and the ball came to Efan Jones who danced his way through to score.
It was 21-3 at half time and RGC continued where they had left off early in the second half with their third try of the game.
Dan Owen touched the ball down and Rogers added the extras to make it 28-3.
Soon after they had their bonus point try as the ball was kicked across field for Harry Evans to collect and score. The conversion was missed.
RGC were reduced to 14-men following a yellow card but the Quins were unable to make the man-advantage count.
The Quins were then reduced to 14 after a red card was shown to Sion Jones while RGC’s Cam Davies was shown a yellow card.
RGC finished off with their fifth try of the game as Rhodri King scored from the maul and Rogers added the extras to make it 40-3.
On Saturday, December 17, RGC host Pontypridd while Carmarthen Quins travel to Cardiff.
