Sam Rowlands MS highlights concern over scammers

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is backing a call to raise awareness of fake email messages.

Mr Rowlands, has added his voice to North Wales Police who are warning people about scam emails claiming that their iCloud storage is about to run out.

He said: “These days more than ever we all have to be on the lookout for scammers and be especially aware of fake emails which can appear to offer you a good deal but the offers do not exist.

“It is a real shame that there are unscrupulous people out there attempting to scam the public like this and I am happy to highlight this particular problem.

“Please be very careful when you receive any messages and always double check if you are not sure of the sources. Remember if something looks too good to be true then it usual is.”

Action Fraud have received numerous reports about fake emails claiming that your iCloud storage is about to run out and NWP’s Cyber Crime Unit are warning people to be aware of this latest scam.

The emails are designed to lure people to genuine-looking websites which steal your Apple ID login details, as well as other personal and financial information.

Scammers will often use the stolen login details to hack into your account so never click on any unverified links.

To help beat the scammers report any suspicious emails by forwarding them to [email protected].
