Sam Rowlands MS supports Baby Loss Awareness Week

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales,  is highlighting a charity awareness week.

Mr Rowlands, is supporting Baby Loss Awareness Week which runs from October 9-15th.

He said: “Baby loss is a deeply traumatic experience that impacts thousands of people across the United Kingdom every year.

“Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important way to raise awareness of this issue, and to encourage conversations about a difficult topic.

“Please remember that you are not alone and that support is out there, for example the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance who are there to help.”

Baby Loss Awareness Week is held annually from October 9-15 and is a special opportunity to mark the lives of babies lost in pregnancy or soon after birth.

During this week, which is now in its 22nd year, the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance works alongside more than 100 other charities and groups to raise awareness of key issues that affect people who have lost a baby.

Its aim is to share how the pregnancy and baby loss community is there for people every step of the way, during and after loss and you don’t have to navigate pregnancy loss alone.

There are several ways you can show your support for Baby Loss Awareness Week including wearing a pink and blue ribbon, Illuminate the Wave of Light – on October 15 at 7 pm, light a candle in remembrance of babies who have died too soon, creating a wave of light across the world or attend a local or virtual event.

Also every year iconic landmarks, municipal buildings, hospitals, bridges and stadiums across the UK take part in turning pink and blue for baby loss awareness.
