SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is calling on everyone to support a Farming Day of Unity on Saturday January 25.
Mr Rowlands, a keen supporter of farmers and the agricultural industry is urging the public to get behind farmers who are taking part in the #StopTheFamilyFarmTax campaign.
He said:
“I fully support the very real concerns over the UK Labour Government’s tax raid on farming family businesses.
“Farmers are unsung heroes and play a vital role in producing food for us all, working hard day in and day out to produce the nation’s food. They also help in other ways including nurturing the environment, boosting the Welsh economy and supporting tourism.
“Labour’s attitude towards farmers, both in the UK and Welsh Governments, is very concerning and it is no surprise that farmers across the UK are protesting.”
The Farming Day of Unity will bring together farmers from across the UK to participate in events in town centres to demonstrate visual support for the #StopTheFamilyFarmTax campaign and provide an opportunity for the public to add their local support.
This event will happen across Britain, from Shetland to Cornwall, and from the Giant’s Causeway to Kent.
It will show MPs and ministers clearly that agriculture across the whole of the UK is united in rejecting this policy.
The day of unity is a chance for farmers to come out and be seen, to make their voices heard, and to ensure the campaign stays in both the public and media’s minds.
