Deadpool finds new home at Wrexham pub, now serving chimichangas and pints!

Wrexham AFC Deadpool sculpture finds new home at the Turf pub according to Wrexham-based sculptor Simon O’Rourke.

O’Rourke created the famous sculpture following Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s takeover of the Reds.

Reynolds plays Deadpool in the Marvel franchise.

The sculpture was auctioned last year to raise funds for Teams4U and Nightingale House Hospice.

After a tour around Wrexham, Steve Moore from Birmingham won the auction but had trouble collecting it.

O’Rourke then suggested that the sculpture would be given to the Turf pub if Steve couldn’t collect it.

Steve loved the idea as he had fond memories of having the “best burger he’s ever had” at the pub when he was working in Wrexham 35 years ago.

Steve said, “The sculpture belongs at the Turf and I hope it will be enjoyed there for years to come.”

The donation was well received by Wayne Jones, the pub’s landlord, who described the sculpture as a “brilliant and wonderfully made piece of art.”

He plans to store it indoors during the winter months and find a permanent location for it outside during the summer.

Wayne believes that the sculpture will be a “huge hit” with tourists and kids.

He also thinks that Ryan Reynolds will be a big fan of the “beautiful” sculpture and added, “I am sure Ryan would love it and be appreciative of the amount of time and effort that’s gone into making it.

We’ll cherish it.”
